Radio Merseyside commentary.

The commentators are actually calling Birmingham the 'Blues' on Radio Merseyside's [Digital] commentary.

Also, the pair of tw/ts are saying things like, '... unfortunately Birmingham City weren't able to capitalise.' Obviously, we have some sort of West Midlands commentary team in the hot seat today.

FFS Radio Merseyside, tight or what?!

Singing the blues again, Everton beat Birmingham and stay in the top three.

Happy with Bush's 'Four More Years?' Well David's giving us a 'High Five' plus Birmingham previews.

Lady Luck, not content with giving us the 'natural high' of the Bush victory, has put the Moyes worries to bed too.

The man who understands the content of and feels the sentiment, within our motto.

Bill Kenwright's best ever signing, potential legend, David Moyes, leads by example once again and shows his commitment in a firm and assured manner. News has emerged today that he has signed up until 2009.

He used the announcement to contemporaneously confirm his ambitions with regard to Europe.

The goose is getting fat.

Let's see what the January Sales will bring eh? In the poll on the right hand side of this page, the one about your favoured striker, Beattie has taken the lead, after a good start by Defoe.

Carsley'll be back, surely? SFTH on p508 [Teletext] is currently pointing out the facts about how we are doing without him.

Bbbbbbuuuuuuurmingham.

Birmingham previews here, here, here and here.

I wonder what gracious, level-headed statements Bruce will come out with after the game? Remember the Premiership-newbie-claptrap spouted on Sky etc. surrounding our 'laughable' Savage bid? A plain, 'Not enough' [as Moyes did, with Hamburg, re: Gravesen] would have been so much better, for all concerned.

Off on the pop around town tonight from 17.00 until, well until, I remember to go home, or the money runs out. Starting off in one of the finest pubs to begin a Town session at, Dr Duncan's [next to the Marriott]. So, there'll be nothing more on here until tomorrow afternoon, when I'll post betting.

In the meantime, you may vote on how you think the match with 'The Blues' [that nickname, Aaaaargh] will go, by completing the prediction poll on the right hand side of this page.

EVERTON FOOTBALL TRUST - Response to Comments [Colin Wilkes]

By Colin Wilkes [colin.wilkes@gmail.com]

EVERTON FOOTBALL TRUST Response to Comments

As the author of the article, THE PEOPLES CLUB POWER TO THE PEOPLE, published on Everton Blog and NSNO regarding the establishment of an Everton Supporters Trust I feel now is the time to answer some of the comments I have received and seen posted on the net.

Whilst all of the emails I have received on the subject have been of a positive nature there has been many negative remarks made on some of the Forums. From what I can glean from some of these remarks there exists an undercurrent of dislike for a certain Mr Colin Laphan and that he is seen as the author of this material. He is not the author. I am and have sole responsibility for the contents.

I do not know nor have never met Mr Colin Laphan. I have however received emails from him on the subject of a Supporters Trust. He has answered certain questions I have posed to him regarding the Everton Council. This is an organisation I did not know existed until the 1st November 2004. Its existence, I have come to believe, was started by a group of EFC shareholders and had its first full meeting on 28th August 2004. This meeting took place in the old EFC Supporters Club City Road. Publicity for the event was so well broadcast that it attracted almost twenty five (25) people.

During the last week I have been learned that the EFC Council is to merge with a newly established Everton Supporters Trust. Control of this organ has been filched from the hands of the people by elements within the present Everton Shareholders Association.

At the time of writing my original article I never envisaged an Everton Supporters Trust to be for the present shareholders of EFC. That view still holds good today as it did then. Those who are fortunate enough to own shares in EFC at the present time have an organ at their disposal in which they can channel and vent their opinions and suggestions regarding the running and related issues of EFC. That organ is the Everton Shareholders Association. The present shareholders should maintain their present positions within that association and not involve themselves in an Everton Supporters Trust. After all said and done they cant even organise themselves properly judging by the shenanigans of the EGM.

Why then are these people hijacking the potential for the rest of us supporters who do not own shares in EFC? Personally I have no answer that can be considered cast iron. I like most of you can only guess. Needless to say, however, that where Supporters Trusts exist at other clubs they exert power and influence. Maybe it is this power and influence they wish to arrest for their own purposes. And how it fits into their grandiose scheme of things. The term Megalomania springs to mind. Or maybe they want to just seize control and therefore head of any possible pressure, unrest and disquiet, so as to save paternalistic Bill's bacon, from an organ that would have such influence and power. After all its only the supporters, you know those people who pay the wages of all.

With regards to the Everton Supporters Trust being a shareholding organisation. This is something that only the members can decide upon once the Trust is formed and established. There is no prerequisite for share ownership nor the absolute need for the members of the Trust to be shareholders in the future. If the members want the facility to own shares then negotiations with the club could proceed. If an individual did not want to purchase then there should be no pressure to do so. Free will and personal choice rule. Unless the megalomania fascists seize control.

If it was decided by a majority vote for the Trust to negotiate share ownership and enough people wanted to purchase there could be a possible £10-£30 million going into the club. How this would be spent would depend on the share owning membership of the Trust. There could be no way any single decision, on such monies be left in the palm of some fools hands, chairman, director, CEO or whatever. The majority of the Trust shareowners would have to vote and ring fence any funds for what they, and in collaboration with the club, decide to do with those funds. I most certainly cannot = envisage such funds being used to bail out some clown's bad economic housekeeping. Personally I would not like to see any Trust fund monies used in the transfer market. Rather it should be used as an investment in a capital expenditure project. Here again on a personal level it must never be used on any collaborative undertaking involving forces from the dark side should a ground share be forced upon us. God forbid. However the majority may want a ground share and I would abide by the majority decision. That does not mean I would ever enter the place. I would have to absent myself.

Reference has been made to an initial membership payment. On this point I have an open mind but every club I have been a member of has required a membership fee. Just what these memberships fees would be put to use for I don't really know. Money is available from the government backed Football Trust for initial set up costs such as stationary postage etc etc. Incidentally the main man at the trust is the Labour MP for Leigh who happens to be a very good Evertonian.

My reason for originally writing the piece on an Everton Football Trust was to open up some debate. I think that has been achieved to some degree. I do believe that had the team not been playing so well then the response would have been greater. So it's thanks to the teams good performances there are not more points for discussion here.

I am hopeful that more debate can be generated from this piece. I know there is a genuine interest in the establishment of an Everton Football Trust. That interest has to grow and come to fruition. With all becoming involved in the democratic decision making process that will and only be to the betterment of Everton Football Club.

Wenger youth teach Everton's 1st team a lesson [Arsenal v Everton]

Poppy appeal.

See the first couple of paragraphs of this post.

Arsenal 3:1 Everton

Arsenal's Youth Team deservedly sent a near full-strength Everton side crashing out of the Carling Cup tonight, leaving Everton only on for 'The double' this year. The 'Wenger boys' could have won by a clear five.

Never having been one to make the fatal error, of mixing sentiment with betting, I swear, if we played Arsenal's Ladies Team, I'd be tempted to back them to roll Everton over!

Results of the prediction poll:

Everton win within 90 mins. 60%
Everton in extra time or on pens. 20%
Arse' win within 90 mins. 17%
Arse' in extra time or on pens. 3%

What were we thinking?!

Norwegian would ... and previews v The Arsenal.

Donate to the people who gave up so much, so that we wouldn't have to give up anything. Think for a minute about how we, the 'New Vulgarians,' have lived our selfish lives to the full, ever since.

The selfless, brave generations must feel really let down, as our Govt. continues to leave the nation's borders [that they suffered unimaginable hardship and losses to protect] wide open, complete with virtual 'Get it here' signs being erected in Dover and Calais etc.

Birmingham or Aston Villa, which club issues the most ungracious press releases?

Spotted this piece [see below] on ICBirmingham last night.

David O'Leary: "Everton really should be playing in the Championship after getting only 39 points last season."

Point of order David, you should only be playing in the 'First Division' [retro and proud], if you finish in the bottom three.

Tonight we're away to 'the best' in the next chapter of the Carling Cup.

Wenger will surely be keeping the faith with his youths. No matter what, it won't be anything other than a very difficult tie. Arsenal are one of those clubs [Chelsea, Newcastle, Man U [of late, before this campaign!] that we don't seem able to get anything from, in the League, away from home. Tonight is as good an opportunity as ever to slip in a tiny sliver by way of payback.

Here are some more previews: here and here.

Cahill's convinced that we will reach Europe this year. With hi involved it looks very likely, what a revelation! Second only to the magnificent Yobo, as my favourite Everton player.

Norwegian would ... cost us dear.

Norwegian international, Hangeland, is on trial with Everton from Viking Stavanger. He's looking to make a move into the Premier.

We're keen to add another central defender to the squad, with David Weir possibly set to leave the club in early summer '05. We're also following Notts. Forest’s Dawson.

No money to speak of, but Scott Parker's a wanted man.

I forgot to mention this in the previous article [below] but I still can't quite believe Stubbs' failure to even hit the target with that header on Saturday, FFS Alan!

Scott Parker.

The momentum is gathering in the media, let's hope the stories are as accurate as the 'Rooney to Man U' ones were.

But we're 'not flush.'

See here and here.

Everton:Chelsea aftermath - singing the Blues.

"I think it was a special win against a special opponent," Mourinho said. "They [Everton] are definitely the tallest and strongest I have seen in England. Very physical with a great attitude.

Mourinho seems to like Everton and her fans alright! His comments about 'support' demonstrate that he doesn't realise that Goodison is often like a morgue [noise-wise]. He will gradually learn that in English football, the away fans, the hardcore, fanatical supporters, tend to have a far higher noise-per-man ratio, as they enjoy their day 'off the lead.'

Fortunately, a lot of the results went our way over the weekend. 'Sick-note' Anderton scored an 'absolute belter,' any winning goal v the shyte is an 'absolute belter' in my book. Boateng's last-gasp equaliser stopped Bolton going 3rd and Citeh frustrated the dead-on-its-feet corporate machine of 'Manchester United plc' very well indeed. I'll not be alone in being delighted to see the obnoxious, ear-ringed, tattooed, Geordies getting right royally roasted [oops] too.
