Fans hacked off at the press: Kenwright et al slaughtered by fans online
Dave Prentice the Liverpool Echo Chief Sports Writer dropped an almighty clanger when he published this post: Article 1
Dozens of fans pointed out he had misjudged the fans views and mood.
Obviously shaken, he then tried to further explain and clarify: Article 2
... this drew a similar number of ripostes from thoroughly cheesed-off and erudite Blues fans.
If the local journos are in the arse pocket of Kenwright and the Board, then what hope do we have of ever achieving a hard-hitting, factual campaign involving the press?
For starters, why doesn't Prentice insist upon an answer for the fans to the following question:
"How much do you, Bill Kenwright want for your controlling interest in Everton Football Club?"
If Kenwright wants to email me here, I'll publish the asking price for him, and you know what, I won't even charge a scouting fee... honest I won't. I'll do it for the love of Everton.
The Echo should then publish the actual sum, surely that's not too much to ask of a fat controller [coveting his Precious, Gollum-like], at the control box of a train set that he simply can't afford to maintain?

To borrow from FC Barcelona's strap line [Mas Que Un Club - More Than a Club]... this Everton FC of ours, is "more than a football club." Besides attending at great expense, week in, week out, people have this club deep within their souls, it's an emotion. A walk around any Merseyside graveyard, will show how commonly the crest adorns gravestones. This shows the depth and breadth of the love for the club. Astoundingly poor stewardship is messing with people's lives in a way that few things can. Fans have a right to complain if they feel that an incompetent is harming their club. In turn, the local press have a professional duty, including requirements for honesty and integrity, to support and indeed properly champion, their readership's views and needs.
